McCormick Ranch was bought by developers in the early 1970's from the McCormick's, who used the property as a ranch. The master planned community of 3100 acres runs from Indian Bend Road to Shea Boulevard, on the west side of 101. Like Scottsdale but don't love the cactus? McCormick Ranch is best known for its non-desert environment of green grass, lakes, and trees. Downtown Scottsdale is just a few miles south.
Most of the homes, townhomes and condos were built in the late 70's and early 80's. McCormick Ranch has a large number of single-level patio homes. Lake and golf course views are in demand.
