While much of the country is mired in rainy or snowy weather, winter residents and visitors descend on Scottsdale AZ for a respite from the weather and GOLF.  With over two dozen courses open to the public in Scottsdale, you could play a different course every week all winter long.

But why stop at just enjoying the green fairways while playing golf when you can enjoy a golf view from your private balcony or patio every day?  Several condo developments in Scottsdale are adjacent to a golf course, but not all condos in those developments have a view of the course.  So how much will you have to pay up for a view of the course? Here's an example of sold prices for golf view condos in 2022.

The condos shown here are approximately the same age and style (low rise buildings with single level or 2 level condos, generally built between after the year 2000.

In most cases in Scottsdale, the golf courses you would see from your condo are separately owned and operated. That means you can enjoy the fairways without paying for the upkeep.

Not all Views are Created Equal

When you are comparing condos on the course, you'll find a wide variety of views, including desert landscaping with the fairways and greens in the background, to front-and-center fairways and greens. Some condos are on narrow fairways (like Sovanna), so you may be looking across the fairway at other homes. The most coveted view though is a fairway view with mountains or open desert shown in the background.

You'll also want to remember that getting the best view may also get you the most errant golf balls landing in your patio.  Find out where the tee box is nearest you to determine if the condo is in the landing zone.

Other Factors to Consider Along with the View

As you see from the wide range in prices for golf view condos and townhomes, there are other factors that make some condos more affordable and some a little more pricey.  Two story condo buildings are generally the least expensive options for views and you'll find that the square footage is smaller as well.  Traviata in downtown Scottsdale is an example of this kind of architecture, with 2-bedroom condos (either upstairs or downstairs) in the 1200 square foot range.  If you are looking for a more spacious townhome style, consider some of the Grayhawk townhomes, with one and two story units over 1600 square feet.

Another option to consider is how close you want to live to "other" fun things, like restaurants, shopping and festivals.  If you want to be close to the action, consider condos at Gainey Ranch, which are 10 minutes from all the activities of downtown Scottsdale.
