News > Take Quartz for Granite
Granite had a long run as the favorite kitchen countertop, and prices have decreased to the point where if you replace countertops in a condo, at the very least, put in granite slab. But if you're looking for the next trend for your condo remodel and like the contemporary look, consider Quartz. Quartz counters are showing up in the contemporary look for most new Scottsdale condo projects. Paired with sleek European style cabinets and stainless appliances, a light quartz has a great look.
Quartz is scratch resistant and is non-porous so practically no care is needed. Plus, since quartz is "engineered" (made from quartz and other polimers), you can get it in many different styles, from "granite-like" green and blue that matches the popular uba-tuba granite, to a striking red hue that will put a wow into just about any kitchen.
Of course, granite is not going the way of laminate. It still is a contender for many new condo projects, so don't feel you are making a mistake doing this classic stone in your new kitchen.
